Journey: Post Move Acro Festival day 3
I have honestly not had my phone on me all day so have so few photos – I’ve had to snap a few things at 11pm π
Up bright and early for handstand class at 8am, it was really good and my strength is improving. There was a great technique which I did a rubbish video of in my nightie not realising the room opposite was full of cake munching people! My friend Peter thought I was sleep handstanding and my dad was filming me ππ On the plus if I hadn’t ventured out to make a video I would have missed out on cake!
The first workshop I chose hand to hand (h2h) which is handstands on someone else’s hands. On Ben in Norwich I’m oddly really good at this, but I wanted to practice on others and nail my technique. It was really helpful and was as much a 3 hr lesson on handstands. I worked with two women who based me and were new to it and although none of us were strong enough to do a full h2h, we delighted in a micro balance on hand to forearm.
We offered the pups out for free walks and cuddles during the breaks and Ernest was adopted by Sam for a beach walk. He has a pit bull X and had loved Ernest from the moment he first spotted him. Mabel and Jasper also got cuddles. It’s so nice how friendly everyone has been letting us attend with them. Ernest and Mabel are part of the woof tribe with me and Jasper is in Marks tribe.
After more glorious food. Heike and I again opted for different workshops. She did an amazing looking advanced inspiration class while I did an intermediate role reversal class where we swapped from basing to flying as part of a flow. We had to create or own themed flow, and I and two ladies created a hilarious animal flow involving us pretending to be birds, bugs stuck on our backs, monkeys and an elephant complete with sound effects. If I find out anyone videod it I will share with you.
This evening was a therapeutic session. I was thinking Mark might join us for the Thai massage lessons but he was on washing up duty and didn’t fancy it after that. I loved it and both gave and received some much needed pampering.. my hamstrings are so tight!
Rather than a second massage session I went for a sauna until I was as rosy pink as my towel and then realised I hadn’t done day four of the running challenge, so my poor muscles did a bit more and you have a daft video of my balancing on one leg trying to write the alphabet π€
Tomorrow I will try to get some proper acro pictures for you, but this festival has already fulfilled it’s aim of making us completely relax
